Okay here we go again another defeat, well who should take the fall for this result, the coach or players frankly stating neither I think there was a good effort and again one got away. But this is the norm with the Soca Warriors over the past few months so instead of me wining and complaining, I will say “take it in stride boys and let go to Mexico and accept another defeat” and yes this is my blog for the next game against Mexico as the outcome will be the same, prove me wrong Soca Warriors!.

As one that supported the removal of Mr Maturana, I wonder if the right choice was made. Laptapy or Latas as known to the local fans is that choice however the football pundits will tell you he has a lot of work ahead. This opportunity is great for Latas, I hope he is not a total failure with this team as this can ruin his entire career as a coach, would I take up such a challenge, you have to be nuts. But not Latas, let’s hope he can motivate this team and take us to SA 2010, one piece of advice do not select friends but pick the right players to get the best result…….good luck against Costa Rica.

The Soca Warriors got good licks again from the US, losing points which is very essential to us qualifying for SA 2010. This was the worst performance by this team, there seem to be no vision, plan or strategy developed for this match. I am blaming Maturana as well as his international players who ply their trade in England, they showed no effort or ability and therefore must be accountable for the debacle. Hopefully moving forward there is a plan in place otherwise we will preparing for 2014.

Yes people at least we got a point with Lady Luck on our side. I will credit Mr Maturana on his formation but not the selection I totally dislike the midfield choices. Again I am left to figure out what is wrong with this team we have prolific strikers and cannot get the ball to them. ENOUGH! it is damn time to pick the right players on this squad where are the likes of Spann, Julius James, Whitley every other team is the hex is becoming stronger except for TNT we are still trying to figure things out mabye we are putting together a team for 2014. Good luck with that !.

Our next opponent is Honduras forget their last game as this team was under strenght ,our Warriors
must be very careful and not take this team likely. The key in my opinion is team selection to ensure we get the right mix as well as formation I would like to see a 4-4-2 we must not be afraid and play
4-5-1 especially at home we must get max points. Enough is enough no experimenting with players
almost half the starting line up ply their trade in England. Come on Warriors let’s go and get our three points.

As I watch our soccer team take the play to El Salvador and taught “wow” this would be an easy three points then came the second half for all but five mins that we performed a high level and then all downhill from there I said to my friends here we go again and as most of we Trini’s in Canada says ” you supporting this heart attack team”. The fitness of this team is very,very bad and then we have Stern John as much as I like this guy as a player who told him he can take penalty kicks, we all now he must miss five before scoring one.
I hear the football gurus saying that it is ok for one point in this match,please do they think that the likes of US or Mexico will loose a game in ten mins give me a break. Let’s hope those two points does not make the difference in us not going to South Africa.

After all the training and waiting the day is here, the journey starts for South Africa. The Soca Warriors face a young El Salvador team in a very hostile atmostphere. The Warriors need an attacking formation, patience and play a full game not 45 mins as they have grown accustomed to in previous games. The determination and grit of the Warriors should earn them 3 points however the experts have labelled El Salvador as the weakest team in the Group, I do not believe that for one min, anything can happen on any given day.

Although some may argue that this US team is under strength I would say it is experience that this US team does not have. However we did it, now the Soca Warriors await Nov 19 to finish the job, not withstanding the assistance we got from Cuba ( a big thanks) one point and onto the hex..

This team seems to have found the right mix of players, now a great performance is needed to ensure TNT goes to the second round. The coach finally came to his senses and picked the right players, with his job at stake, this move had to be made. Now the question is: Will Maturna still be around to take us into the second round? I say no, win or lose in Guatemala on Saturday and he should or will be released of his duties. This is the best move for the TNT soccer team. This team needs a coach with skill, flair and the ability similar to that of the Dutchman Leo Beenhakker…….TNT 2….Guatemala 1
