Defeated Again

Okay here we go again another defeat, well who should take the fall for this result, the coach or players frankly stating neither I think there was a good effort and again one got away. But this is the norm with the Soca Warriors over the past few months so instead of me wining and complaining, I will say “take it in stride boys and let go to Mexico and accept another defeat” and yes this is my blog for the next game against Mexico as the outcome will be the same, prove me wrong Soca Warriors!.

New Coach

As one that supported the removal of Mr Maturana, I wonder if the right choice was made. Laptapy or Latas as known to the local fans is that choice however the football pundits will tell you he has a lot of work ahead. This opportunity is great for Latas, I hope he is not a total failure with this team as this can ruin his entire career as a coach, would I take up such a challenge, you have to be nuts. But not Latas, let’s hope he can motivate this team and take us to SA 2010, one piece of advice do not select friends but pick the right players to get the best result…….good luck against Costa Rica.

Lady Luck

Yes people at least we got a point with Lady Luck on our side. I will credit Mr Maturana on his formation but not the selection I totally dislike the midfield choices. Again I am left to figure out what is wrong with this team we have prolific strikers and cannot get the ball to them. ENOUGH! it is damn time to pick the right players on this squad where are the likes of Spann, Julius James, Whitley every other team is the hex is becoming stronger except for TNT we are still trying to figure things out mabye we are putting together a team for 2014. Good luck with that !.

Journey Starts

After all the training and waiting the day is here, the journey starts for South Africa. The Soca Warriors face a young El Salvador team in a very hostile atmostphere. The Warriors need an attacking formation, patience and play a full game not 45 mins as they have grown accustomed to in previous games. The determination and grit of the Warriors should earn them 3 points however the experts have labelled El Salvador as the weakest team in the Group, I do not believe that for one min, anything can happen on any given day.

The day is coming November 19th man how this still gives me a sick stomach, remember this date in 1989, but I digress our Soca Warriors needs just one point to move forward. The team , coach and fans are ready for a win, however we cannot take our opponent likely as they have nothing to loose. TNT must put forth a great effort to ensure a win, and not to worry about the outcome of US -Guatemala game. Warriors all the way ….

Great Victory

Dwight Yorke and his team mates utilized their skills and experience to beat a good US team and give the fans and themselves a great victory. Although some may argue that this US team is under strength I would say it is experience that this US team does not have. However we did it, now the Soca Warriors await Nov 19 to finish the job, not withstanding the assistance we got from Cuba ( a big thanks) one point and onto the hex..

THE TIME IS NOW

The time is now for TNT soccer team, as the encounter with Guatemala takes centre stage, a win is required. This team seems to have found the right mix of players, now a great performance is needed to ensure TNT goes to the second round. The coach finally came to his senses and picked the right players, with his job at stake, this move had to be made. Now the question is: Will Maturna still be around to take us into the second round? I say no, win or lose in Guatemala on Saturday and he should or will be released of his duties. This is the best move for the TNT soccer team. This team needs a coach with skill, flair and the ability similar to that of the Dutchman Leo Beenhakker…….TNT 2….Guatemala 1

A Good Beating

I remember going to school in Trinidad in the 80’s and back then a good beating by your teacher will set you straight, this is what the TNT football team got from the US. In all honesty the selection committee is the one to blame for this, by selecting and playing under strength squad in a very important game, even Shaka Hislop guest host on ESPN was suprised.This team need a quick revamp no more experimenting with players, the coaching staff must either put the best team moving forward or resigned..nuff said.

One That Got Away

A lapse by the TNT team in the dying stages of Saturday’s encounter with Guatemala will cause a major set back as TNT give the opposition breathing space . The performance was ok but TNT must perform better against the US. However if TNT miss the final round by a point or two, this game will be remembered for the next four years, lets hope this one does not come back to bit us in the butt.

Well TNT fans here we go again, it took me sometime to write this blog but as I watch all the friendlies and qualifying games thus far, the selection and non selection of certain players ( ie Chris Birchall, Stern John) by the PUPPET coach makes me wonder how far will we go, but however I must support TNT. The encounter tomorrow with Guatemala is a must win for us as we remember the drubbing (5-2)three years ago in Guatemala and then the remarkable win in Trinidad (3-2) which paved the way for us towards Germany 2006.
Taking the opposition likely will surely be a diaster for our team, with the likes of Carlos Ruiz and the rest of the team looking for revenge, TNT must be aware and take this game very seriously, as points is at stake. Our team must play with poise and composure as well as stay focus in the first half which has been an issue with TNT national team over the past few years,may be this time around the focus will be different. However in this writes opinion TNT did not put forth the best possible team or did they, well I leave that discussion for another time, wait for my next post …….. GO SOCA WARRIORS!!!!!!!!!!!!
