Yorke Fears No Man

February 6th, 2006 | By: Stacy-Marie Ishmael | 1 Comment »

In a recent interview, Dwight Yorke claimed that, “while I played up front for such a long time and it was my job to score goals, I get more satisfaction playing [in midfield] now.”

The Tobagonian also revealed that he “feared no one, no one at all”, adding that, “because [he has] played at a top level more people fear [him].”

In what might be a reference to UK C-list celeb Jordan, with whom Yorke has a son, the Sydney FC player admitted that he’d “been out with the best blondes.”

Hmm. Dwight Yorke is an interesting character. He retired from international football in 2001, but returned for the Soca Warriors’ World Cup campaign. He’s played for Aston Villa, Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, and Birmingham City and has scored 23 goals for Trinidad & Tobago. When’s he on his game, he’s unstoppable; when he’s not, he’s simply terrible. Let’s just hope that he’ll be in full-on playmaking/goal scoring mode in June.
