Highlights of this week – Sydney FC trounces Adelaide United; Soca session planned for Iceland friendly; World Cup Trophy arrives in Trinidad
Red card to – Jack Warner
- Dwight Yorke: is breathing a sigh of relief. His club, Sydney FC, beat Adelaide United this Sunday and so qualified for the A-League grand final. Yorke will there be free to captain the Warriors on February 28th for the friendly against Iceland.
- Martin Jay is a die-hard Soca supporter, and a huge fan of the Soca Warriors. The UK-based ChoiceFm DJ has agreed to cut short his trip to Trinidad this Carnival in order to provide the sweet sounds of soca at the Iceland friendly on February 28th. Respect to Martin Jay for flying out, abandoning Carnival Tuesday celebrations in Kairi to come to London and show his support. Definitely a Soca Warrior.
- The World Cup Trophy has arrived in Trinidad. There’s a great description of the Carnival vibe that greeted its arrival on the FIFA website.

- Jack Warner is a riddle wrapped in a mystery wrapped in an enigma. FIFA Vice-President, CONCACAF president, philanthropist and businessman who saved football in T&T or a corrupt profiteer? FIFA has ruled that Warner violated its code of ethics because of his questionable personal involvement with the distribution of World Cup Tickets in Trinidad (see the previous blog here.Warner has replied to the allegations, saying that he wants to “set the record straight.”Warner will know in March what the extent of his punishment, if any, will be.

Jack Warner is a low-down scum of the earth. I can’t believe what this man has done to his own, and the football world – he represents the very worst of human nature. Like i said – S C U M . Period. (Sorry for this email, but i am totally outraged.)
