Well, if you ask me…

A comment that you hear often from Trinbagonians at home and abroad, in one form or another: well I think/if it was me I woulda/but he eh know he shoulda/speaking from personal experience (etc). The Warriors have had a lot to say this week.

On Rooney:

“Lord Jesus Christ can help him…If you call on Lord Jesus Christ, God is there, God can help him. ” (Marvin ‘Holy Warrior’ Andrews)

On England:

“They’re a sleeping giant waiting to fulfill its potential. But who’s to say we can’t pull a victory out. I mean, Senegal beat France.” (Kelvin ‘Cautiously Optimistic’ Jack)

On Germany:

“No one is expecting anything from us. But that is to our advantage. We have nothing to lose and nothing to prove.” (Leo ‘Warrior Chief’ Beenhakker)

“It’s up to us now as players and it’s up to us as a country to go out and prove to the rest of the World that next time they hear the words Trinidad and Tobago they shouldn’t underestimate us.” (Dennis ‘Showing that Warrior Spirit’ Lawrence)

On Football:

“Football is a school of life. It teaches you how to win and how to lose. It teaches you discipline” (Jack ‘Philosopher King’ Warner)

Honestly i think the approach by these senior individuals shows how *mature* they are in terms of athelete…and anyone who is a passionate lover of football will totally agree with what Jack Warner said.

As far as the sayings of *Trinbagonians * ….everyone in the world does what was said above..why should we be any different.

Well if you ask me… ;)

I could say (more accurately, I have said) that we might beat Sweden 2-1. It is not beyond the realm of possibility that we could beat Paraguay. England without Rooney? One can only dare to dream.

Pragmatism requires me to quell these flights of fancy. Let’s see what happens against Peru, first of all, with our injured players second, and finally, let us look to May 15th and Beenie’s final selection. Talk done for now.

I think our least MOST difficult opponent is England…
Sweden i personally rank very high and you can see why…they have always done well..Paraguay is a very south american and exteremly talented team..who plays the rugged european style football with the south american touch..
England plays the same..
Against teams of equal or higher caliber they score a goal and then defend(stolen italian tactic ..that NEVER WORKS)
and they almost always understimate the so called *smaller teams*

From a footballing point of view..
*on paper* We are supposed to lose all our matches(In theory)
but football is not played on paper is it?

just ask Mexico…
My conclusion is we will give a respectable performance worthy of a world cup finalist..on the results of the games?
i really don’t see why its NOT a possibilty that we cannot beat any of those teams..
