This Week - T&T Kit with an Iraqi flag; Brent Sancho helps Gillingham’s return to winning ways

We’re the Soca Warriors, not the Osood Al Rafidayn - Oh, adidas. You’ve made us kit that is not only boring, but that should rightfully be worn by the Iraq National Football Team. Exhibit A: the T&T kit, modelled by the dashing Carlos Edwards, midfield Warrior. Carlos Edwards in T&T Kit

Notice the horitzonal red/white/black stripes behind the TTFF crest. Compare to Exhibit B: Iraqi Flag and Exhibit C: T&T Flag.

This is quite similar to what happened when the German contingent at the Winter Olympics turned up in the Belgian national colours. Red card, adidas.

Brent’s off the bench - Brent Sancho seems to have been forgiven by his usually embittered Gillingham bosses. He’s been in their starting line-up for their past few games, and was named ‘man of the match’ after their 1-0 thrashing of Swansea, the club with which Sancho had been in loan talks.

Perhaps it’s a tribute to the Syrian community in Trinidad… they too have the same red-white-black horizontal stripes.

[...] Get the gear - The Iraqi kit might not inspire, but all true Trinibagonians ought to be able to find something red - from tshirts to shoes. Be hardcore. Go head to toe. And make sure that you have something to wave. Of course, if you wanted to be uniformed member of the Warrior Nation, you could always join the club. [...]
