The Warriors in London

January 30th, 2006 | By: Stacy-Marie Ishmael | No Comments »

The Trinidad & Tobago national senior team will meet Iceland in London for a friendly match on February 28th. Originally, the Soca Warriors were scheduled to play Wales in March, but the game was cancelled when the Welsh team opted out in order to face Paraguay at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium. That match will take place on March 1st.

The Iceland friendly will be the Warriors’ first game since their historic qualification in November. The Warriors can expect a challenge - Iceland will be fielding a team which includes players from the English Premiership, notably Chelsea forward Eidur Gudjohnsen.

The match will be played at Loftus Road Stadium in Hammersmith, the home grounds of the Queens Park Rangers. Kick off is at 8pm GMT.

Tickets are priced at £20 adult and £10 junior and can be purchased via the the Box Office and online.

T&T supporters - including this correspondent - are expected to be out in force. Watch this space for photographs of the game, and a match report.
