Everyone now knows about the Soca Warriors, the T&T national football players who’ll be making their World Cup debut this June.

Far fewer people are familiar with our other sporting heroes, past and present.

Hasley Crawford
– In 1976, at the Montreal Olympic Games, Crawford sprinted to victory in the 100m final, and won Trindad & Tobago’s first and only Olympic Gold Medal.

Marc Burns – Another 100m specialist, Marc Burns is one of the stars of contemporary track in T&T. The 23 year old most recently earned a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games. As part of the T&T 4×100m relay team, Burns won the silver medal at the 2005 World Championships in Athletics.

George Bovell III – As befitting our island heritage, T&T athletes shine in the water as well as on land. At the 2004 Athens Olympics, Bovell won the bronze in the 200m Individual Medley.
