Soca Warrios Face Tough Challenge
It won’t be easy when Trinidad and Tobago faces Iceland on Tuesday in London. In addition to playing against a team with talent, the Soca Warriors must overcome a bit of rustiness. The team hasn’t played together since November and coach Leo Beenhakker has brought in some players that don’t have much experience playing for the national team. Beenhakker explains why Iceland was chosen to be an opponent:
“All the teams are preparing for the World Cup just as we are and this game is part of what we have set up to get ourselves ready for June. The Iceland team brings a good type of Scandanavian style similar to what Sweden will plan and we have to utilise every opportunity over the next three days that we are together as a team.”
I agree that Iceland presents a nice challenge and because of the squad that has been assembled I am going to predict that this friendly ends in a 1-1 draw.
