Soca For Summer
There’s an old saying here in Kairi – fuss Trinis could fete. Which means, of course, that no one can party like a Trinidadian. If you’re in Germany this summer, you should definitely check out sessions that a few of our party promoters are organising.
The names Rupee, Alison Hinds and Machel Montano might not mean anything to you now, but I can guarantee that you’ll be speaking fluent soca by the end of June. Rupee and Alison are two Bajan soca superstars, and Machel Montano and his Xtatik family are truly an experience unto themselves.
These performers will headline two shows in Frankfurt on the 11th and 16th of June (i.e. the day before we rock Sweden and the day after we show the world that Warriors aren’t afraid of the Three Lions). Both shows will be held at Frankfurt’s Jahrhunderthalle.
As a professional limer, I can tell you that this will be an event to remember, and you can be sure that the Warrior Nation, the loyal T&T supporters, will be out in force.
In the meanwhile, you can check out Alison’s dulcet tones, Rupee’s lover-boy lyrics and Machel’s typically scandalous vibes.

For a fan who has suffered many years being a loyal fan..it is a truly wonderful to see that we are finally gracing the big stage. As our very wise national coach said..i want to world to see that Trinidad is not all about Carnival and dancing in the streets everyday…their is another side to us..
i agree Trinidad and its football represent alot more than just soca..but a winning “FIGHTING” spirit that exists…but never gets recognition. I hope the world sees this side of us and takes note!
