Sancho Moves to Swansea City with eye on Soca Warriors

March 6th, 2006 | By: WC Bob | 1 Comment »

Defender Brent Sancho has been loaned from Gillingham to Swansea City until the end of the season. Sancho wanted to be moved from the Gills because he was not receiving regular minutes with the English League One team and consequently his spot with Trinidad and Tobago in Germany is in question. The move will allow him to get the playing time he needs to show coach Leo Beenhakker that he should be one of the reserve defenders for the Soca Warriors in Germany. Gillingham was never happy with Sancho, especially after he went against the team’s wishes and flew to Bahrain for the qualifying match,

I’ve always loved Sancho’s speed and desire. I hope he is able to gain his fitness and that he earns a spot at the World Cup.
