Reppin’ for the Soca Warriors
June 13th, 2006 | By: Stacy-Marie Ishmael | No Comments »
Hip-hopper Foxy Brown is supporting the Soca Warriors - and not just because her parents are Trinidadian.
Ms. Brown is a huge fan of T&T’s national instrument, the steelpan, and has recruited some top Trinidadian pannists to add some “exotic beats” to the tracks on her upcoming album.
Warriors taking over town - T&T culture taking over the world.
And yet someone still managed to ask me today (upon noticing my “I am a Soca Warrior” t-shirt), “so, the Soca Warriors? That’s Jamaica’s national team right?”
Sigh.
