Not With A Bang
At half time I was down but not out.
At full time that Warriors were down 2-0 and out of the World Cup.
Till 2010, then.
Or at least – till tomorrow.
(Brent – doh study it, you are still and always a Warrior. Carlos – you are my player of the tournament. Birchall – you are a Trini, a Warrior, a hero in midfield. Latas – your magic will live on in my heart forever. Dwight – you are a great, great captain. Beenie – giwwe four more years nah man. Stern – I have some serious words for you.)
So long Trinidad & Tobago. Rest assured you’ve provided us with some great memories of this world cup.

Great work Stacy-Marie. I enjoyed reading your blogs. Keep your head up because the Soca Warriors played every minute full of pride, passion, and perserverance. It was an honor watching captain Dwight Yorke’s most likely final game in the Trini uniform. He will always be one of my favorite football players. Just some bad luck today on not finishing some great opportunities created, the Cornell Glenn injury, and the Sancho own goal. Seemed like the ball just didn’t want to go in the goal. Hope to see them in South Africa 2010!
It’s a shame we’ll be without the Soca Warriors. I was pulling for them every game and was impressed with how they played. I wish I were in Germany doning red and black in the stands, because they played with such passion and love for the game that a lot of other teams don’t have. Onward to South Africa!

stacy-marie,
thank you for being a wonderful blog host. you kept the warrior spirit alive and your team fought the whole way – a brave and good effort that deserved a little more – but you know what? You’ll be back. You may have qualified behind Costa Rica but you finished ahead of them – and ahead of a lot of other teams too.
Keep your comments coming about the other games. please.
