Czech-ing In
Quick re-cap of our friendly results so far:
T&T v Iceland 2-0
T&T v Peru 1-1
T&T v Wales 1-2
T&T v Slovenia 1-3
We’ve conceded 6 goals and scored 5 in four matches; we’ve established that we need to sort out our backline and that we need to convert our dominant possession into goals scored.
Which is why this upcoming game against the Czech Republic is so important.
How will the Warriors fare against a team that FIFA ranks 2nd in the world, a team that might be the first Eastern European squad to win a World Cup? A squad that includes Nedved and Baros?
I can’t wait.

Is it me or does NO ONE notice
the importance of Silvio Spann
and its a very bad loss for us.
He is our utility man..our davids
who can also play defence.
With the exception of the tactically aware…Spann was CRUICIAL in Trinidad turning things around against Guatemala…
and a very solid ball winner up until the Bahrain game…especially the away game.
He was the trump card to counter our defence…our MAKELE.
Lets be real their is no one who plays the role and Beenie is trying to fix that.
I see us playing a solid game but eventually giving into the edge in quality with the Czechs but do not get down by the potential result. To be come the best you must play the best.
My heart goes out to Spann
the unseen MVP of our qualifers.
Latapy may score the goals..but spann wins the ball for him to do that.

Andre, I don’t think anyone is overlooking the importance of Silvio Spann to our squad. But the fact that he is out means that we have to move on, and move on immediately. And cruel as it may sound, I’m glad that the person injured was not someone in our starting 11 (I’m not tempting fate here).
This is quite simply the most difficult opponents we have ever faced. Baros was top scorer at Euro2004, and Nedved is no joke (though his hair can be at times). It’s the perfect opportunity for our back line to redeem themselves. I don’t care about the result. I just want the team to do its best and come out injury free. Oh, and Clayton Ince in goal please!

[...] If that’s not enough excitement to get your heart pumping, you can then watch Switzerland against China or the Czech Republic against Trinidad and Tobago. Heck, if you have two computers and massive bandwith you might be able to watch them at the same time. Would be good practice for those World Cup days when there are four matches. [...]

Of course we have to move on..Sanjiva.
We do not have the comfort of depth in certain positions. I am trying to highlight to you all that lets be realistic about our chances.
And Spann is apart of our starting 11. So i do not know where you got that impression.
Just look at all the qualifiers.
Of course now thats changed.
