And now, a word from our sponsors
Qualifying for the World Cup – priceless. Hotel accommodation, training camps, airfare, coaches’ fees – very, very expensive. Fortunately for the Warriors, some of their costs are being met by sponsorship deals.
There was a very high-profile deal completed with e-bay last month, although there have been no further developments in the press since then.
The Warriors are also partnered with the Trinidadian telecommunications company, TSTT. Separate from the blanket sponsorship of the Warriors, Dwight Yorke and Russell Latapy have just wrapped filming a commerical for bmobile, which is the mobile/cellular division of the company. (adidas – are you paying attention?)
adidas, of course, is responsible for our ‘Iraqi flag’ uniforms.
Interestingly, we also have an ‘official partner for alcoholic beverages’ – none other than Carib beer, which is brewed in Trinidad and sold all over the world. No Red Stripe please, we’re the Warriors. I must confess, I don’t drink Carib. Shh, don’t tell anyone.
